Wow! I cannot believe that we have not gone live since September 2009, but I have been engaged in taking the Edutainment & Convergence digital portal to the next level by developing the Edutainment site on Vox with work for my students and by collaborating with my friend and Olympic Gold Medalist Charles Chip Jenkins on The Real Gold Standard on Vox and YouTube. This is a format that I actually had envisioned for myself to demonstrate Edutainment & Convergence, but I really love the research that I have been developing with my students and Professor Jay Dunmore at Loyola.
In the next few weeks and months, you will be seeing the development of my book series right on these pages. You can expect to see a design change too that will be photo-based. I will just have to crop the right one LOL! Seriously, I have learned quite a lot and I really am itching to share it with you and I also think that it will be a great run up to the book series which will be developed for the iPad and the Kindle and other readers. The iPad is the first device other than the iPhone and the Google Android based phones which will enable me to create the digital video book that will be a hybrid creature which will influence the future of learning and business.
I will be able to layout the basics of edutainment and convergence and the trans-disciplinary nature of it and why it is important for learning, earning and living in the 21st century. My students and Professor Jay have been great collaborators and we will be collaborating on a digital textbook based on our classes over he past few years. Sure, you will get the general information here, so that you can see the specifics in the books and video later. Now that's edutainment and convergence!
